the concept

The picture was created by AI. I gave it some ideas, and this is roughly what I had in mind.

The left side: "THAT"

The left side is how I see the real world. It's not scary, but it's complicated, full of all sorts of things:

  • Control and power. Gigantic forces like politics: the never-satisfying democracy, and the authoritarianism that's so hard to change.
  • Economics. Driven by people's endless desire for more money, and by greedy capitalism.
  • Patriarchy. Not to mention the long, long, long-standing and exhausting patriarchy in human society. No matter the race or class, the "first gender" is always there. This one directly shapes part of who I am in that world, and I always have to react from that point of view. Does that make it sound like I care about the other gender that much? Haha.

The right side: my universe

The right side is my ideal world, and also how I protect my peace of mind, my space, and my energy.

  • It has to be green. I love trees and leaves so much. I love how they carry water from the ground up to every cell of their body, against gravity. They're so diverse and beautiful, and they just keep growing and changing over time in their own cute way. Some plants are even poisonous, which is sexy.
  • It needs water. I love water. It makes me feel so different as a walking creature: underwater, I'm floating, haha. And there's a whole other world under the water. Honestly, this planet shouldn't be called Earth. It's mostly a water globe.
  • It has sunshine, but not too hot. Warm sunshine.
  • I can picture myself there, shining and never getting bored.
  • I hope to spend more time in nature and learn more about green life.

The bridge

There's a bridge, and I cross it to the left side to get stronger, too. Over there I learn about all the complicated things I mentioned, mostly about humans. There are good things and bad things.

The good part: I become more mentally equipped, with more knowledge and more experience. It's like evolving myself. "THAT" isn't always scary. I gain something from it. I've worked as an engineer in that world so far, and I've done lots of other jobs too.

The downside: I get really overwhelmed by the polluted parts, like how patriarchy has shaped women in every aspect. I don't appreciate it at all. No matter how many ways people try to justify it, I've never bought any of that shit.

So it can trigger my anger. Right now it's better. I can make peace with it: it is what it is, isn't it? What we can focus on is how we ourselves act, and what we can do to change the future, right? Like my own life.

My universe

"THAT" and my universe. Maybe the word "universe" is a bit much, but that's how it feels. My universe is my existence: the time, the energy, and the feelings I've claimed as my own.
